New York City Breaks Ground by Declaring Diwali a School Holiday, Celebrating Cultural Diversity-Diwali

New York City has made history today by declaring Diwali a school holiday, a significant move toward celebrating cultural diversity. The bill announcement, officially signed by Governor Kathy Hochul and Assemblywoman Jennifer Raj Kumar, took place at the Flushing Hindu Temple Hall of New York. The program, in collaboration with various officials and community leaders, featured musical instruments, cultural Indian folk dance performances, and the ceremonial lighting of the lamp. Following the passage of the Holiday Resolution bill during the ceremony, the event concluded with the reception of South Indian Prasad.

This historic decision is a remarkable achievement for the Indian, Nepali, Bangladeshi, and American communities within our school system. Congratulations to all individuals who celebrate Diwali as part of their culture in New York City schools. Such recognition and celebration are intriguing, and I extend heartfelt wishes to the entire Nepali, Indian, Bangladeshi, and American communities on the occasion of Diwali. For the first time, a New York State school bids farewell to the Diwali festival, acknowledging its cultural enrichment and diversity.

Additionally, this is highly inspiring and reflects the prosperity and cultural growth not only in our country but also on the international stage. It enhances our pride as our people come together globally, and various cultural festivals contribute positively to this shared experience by recognizing its cultural enrichment and diversity.

Last but not the least , the participation of New York State Governor Kathy Hochul in the Diwali program organized in a Hindu temple is particularly motivational. It demonstrates that public figures actively plan to engage in prosperity events. This is a reassuring proof that different cultural festivals are celebrated in public spaces during prosperity occasions.

It shows that when there is an opportunity for prosperity events and participation in various prosperity events, plans are made to actively engage in them. This is an encouraging indication that different cultural festivals are celebrated in public spaces during prosperity occasions.

This affirms that in prosperity events, participation in various cultural festivals or events related to prosperity is planned actively. This is a grateful acknowledgment of the diverse experiences of prosperity and respectful acceptance of the diversity of prosperity. It celebrates various cultural festivals in public spaces during prosperity occasions.

Once again, thanks to our great Leader Assembly Women Hon. Jennifer Raj Kumar , the Hindu Temple Socity of New York for their great effort and Contribution for our Hindu, Shikha, Buddish and Jain Community so far , is highly appreciated and outstanding !
